Happy Birthday, Hudson! Today you're 7 months old. For your birthday we got you this AWESOME helmet that you have to wear 23 hours a day in the dead heat of summer for the next 2-3 months. Hope you like it....Scott and I had a really hard time with this today. In fact, I got teary eyed (shocker!) when they put it on him today. But look at him! He's so amazing that he really doesn't mind that it's there. As if it's not bad enough that he's battling his first cold, we went and put this on him. And still...he's wonderful. Driving up to get the helmet, Scott and I were discussing how hard this was gonna be. How we'd both been dreading it... How we'd better get used to the questions, the people staring at us, the looks of judgment we're sure to get....and then we concluded that it just doesn't matter. It's what Hudson needs right now. And that's what's important. We'd do anything for him. Including this. As long as he's okay with it, we'll be just fine. There are certainly a lot of parents in the world dealing with more difficult and heartbreaking things than wearing a helmet. Thankfully, this is all we're dealing with. And it's gonna be just fine. Now we get to decorate it. They even gave us ideas and instructions for doing so. So now the fun begins...
