A couple of weeks ago I asked Hudson, "Who is your favorite friend?"
Thinking he'd name one of his fellow classmates, I was practically moved to tears when he said without hesitation, "Maddie." (And he looked at me with a sort-of "duh!" expression, as if I should have known).
