Holiday Party at School

Today Scott and I were invited to a holiday brunch at Hudson's school. The brunch was prepared entirely by the children, and they did a great job! When we arrived the children were outside playing. We loved seeing Hudson having so much fun at school. He has really gained confidence and as a result has really come out of his shell. I know it is because of his experience at Junius Heights Montessori School. I am so thankful every day that we found such a great school for him, that he got into the school and that he is doing so well there.

Correction

From The Daily Hud, December 14, 2011 issue- Correction- It has come to the attention of the blogger at The Daily Hud that 37 1/2" + 37 1/2" is NOT in fact 6'5". It is, however, 6'3", so maybe the Hud won't be as tall as his Da-Da or his Pa-Pa, but he sure is going to tower over his Ma-Ma, and I'm guessing by age 5. Special thanks to Pa-Pa who caught the mathematical error, this blogger is blaming it on "pregnancy brain" (which really does exist, trust me!).

2 Year Stats

Hudson had his 2 year check-up yesterday, and for those of you interested in his stats they are as follows:
Height- 37 1/2 inches, 95%
Weight- 32 pounds, 90%
Now legend has it that by age 2 your height represents half of your adult height, so at this rate Hudson will be 6'5". Holy Cow!
Aside from an ear infection we didn't know he had, he had a great check-up and his pediatrician thinks he is doing really well.
On a separate note, you may have noticed I went a little crazy with the camera at the beach...well, here are a few more I thought were also blog-worthy.

Birthdays

Day 1.

Year 1.

Year 2.
"CHEEEEEEEEESSSE!"

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

I know, I know... I'm always talking about Hudson's personality...how much we enjoy him, what a little character he is, how he always makes us laugh, how he's changing every day...Last night I looked at him in the bathtub and thought, my gosh he's such a little boy now! Forget about the fact that he's 37+ inches tall, I mean, he's only 2 (well, tomorrow he is), but when did he change from this little 7 pound, 5 oz fragile little being to this almost-as-tall-as-me kid? If you have kids, you're one of the ones who tell people, "it happens so fast, they grow up too soon!". If you don't have kids I'm saying to you, "it happens so fast, they grow up too soon!". I wonder if I'll feel that way though, when this next little bundle of joy arrives in May. Boy, those early days can be sooooo long. Well, this time I'm going to cherish every single one (not that I didn't the first time, of course), because I miss those days with Hudson and they sure don't last long in the grand scheme of things. Although I miss that little baby Hudson once was, it's been so fun to see him grow into the little boy he is now. His personality can not be summed up in words, it must be witnessed first hand and since most of you don't see him very often, I thought I'd share some silly photos from this morning. Enjoy!

CHEESE!

Every single day Hudson is saying or doing something new and different. He definitely keeps us smiling and laughing, and while this age (dare I say it, the "terrible two's") has it's challenges, it really is just so much fun. Hudson has quite the personality and he's got a great sense of humor! He loves to laugh and even more so, loves to make you laugh!

If you've followed my blog for a while you know by now that I take a lot of photos (I think we're up to around 5,000 now for Hudson alone). It's nothing new for Hudson to see the camera or even have his picture taken daily, but what is new is Hudson saying, "CHEEEEEESE!" every time you take his picture. It's a bit of mystery where he learned this, it's not something I say to him, so we have no idea where he picked it up, but we think it's pretty darn cute. If the two photos below had sound, I promise you'd here loud and clear, "CHEEEEEEESE!".
