piano

Hudson had a check-up with the DOC band people today and all seems to be going well. They're pleased with his progress....BUT....they think he'll outgrow his helmet in the next 4-6 weeks, so now we'll have to start thinking about whether or not we'll do a second helmet. If we're satisfied with the results in the next couple of weeks we'll probably just skip the second helmet, but if he still has a ways to go....we may be looking at another one. Fingers crossed- we really don't want another helmet!! While we were waiting in the exam room, Hudson discovered this piano and loved it! Perhaps he'll be a musical GENIUS on the piano (but never tell anyone and never play it) like his daddy????

teething

Let's just say I am not a fan of teething. I think Hudson likes it even less. It's awful! He's cranky, he's not sleeping well and he's just all around not happy. I feel so bad for him! I know it's got to be painful. We're doing everything we can think of to keep him comfortable, but our efforts don't seem to be working. My goodness....how long does this teething thing last????

mail

Who knew that getting the mail would be such a hit? It's another one of the secrets no one tells you about having a baby. You'll spend a lot of money on toys (and I mean a lot!) and he might like one of every ten you buy. What does he like better? The mail. Pieces of paper. Catalogues. Any, and I do mean ANY electronic device within a 5 mile radius. Phones, laptops, cameras, watches, etc...try to buy him his own phone or laptop and forget it. He wants YOURS. Nothing is safe in this house. Nothing. Except maybe Hudson's stash of toys.

Play date

This morning Hudson and I had a play date with some of my old friends from the DSO, Laura and Bethany and their new babies, Ellie and Finn. Ellie is the darling little girl in pink, and adorable Finn is pictured with Hudson in green. Finn and Hudson share the exact same birthday! It was so much fun to see the babies together and to see how different they all are, what they are all doing, how much they are growing and changing and to catch up with some old friends, too! Rachel who also worked with us at the DSO (pictured holding Hudson and Ellie) also came by to visit with us and the babies. She's in Dallas for just a short amount of time on vacation from her work in the Peace Corp in Africa. So much fun seeing everyone today!
